What a joy to work on this project. My client and I shared the same vision for her living room: brighten it up and create an inviting and relaxing space that can offer as much seating as possible for her family of seven (including the dog and cat) and her regular gatherings with friends and extended family!

She and I also shared a similar aesthetic, so selecting pieces for this room was a breeze. We introduced gorgeous items from Studio McGee, which all tied in so well to deliver a warm and casual feel throughout. We brought in a lot of different textures by layering a flat weave area rug over a large jute rug, mixing seagrass chairs, a leather sofa, and a rattan ceiling fixture. The ‘pièce de resistance’ was a gorgeous six-foot solid oak coffee table from Amber Interiors, which is the focal point of the room around which everybody gathers for lively events.

The warm, blond wood tone of the table and chairs inspired us to bring the same honey warmth to the back of the room by designing a custom floating cabinet and wall shelves, framing our client’s artwork - which was the sole item original to the space.

We also helped elevate the room by hanging beautiful cream linen drapes all the way to the otherwise low ceiling and added another pop of blond wood by choosing oak finials.

The last touch was introducing more textures and patterns by refinishing the face of the fireplace, replacing dull grey tiles with bright, gorgeous, handmade Tabarka tiles, and adding numerous throw pillows of various fabrics and colors.

As usual, we filled the room with various plants, bringing color, life, nature, and a sense of organic happiness to the space.

Mission accomplished.
