A lovely young family in the Berkeley Hills contacted Bleu Leman Design for help designing key spaces in their new light-filled traditional home - We were happy to oblige!

Our lead designer, Lara, loved working with them to design their living room and dining room, kitchen nook, and a work-from-home office in their ADU. They asked for a warm and family-friendly mid-century look with color that incorporated their existing dining set and memorabilia from Hawaii. The living room was to be a place to relax, play games as a family, play music, and share cocktails with friends. The dining room needed a sideboard for cocktail making, the kitchen nook needed storage and a sturdy and durable table for casual family meals and cooking projects with the kids, and the home office needed to be comfortable, functional, and stylish. Lara used one of their favorite art pieces and the gorgeous adjoining garden as inspiration for the color palette throughout and found the perfect spot for each of the art pieces they had collected over the years. She added a locally made custom table with a food-safe finish in the breakfast nook, beautiful soft rugs and other textiles, and new furnishings throughout. The result was exactly what they had hoped for!
