We were thrilled to work with our lovely clients on this beautiful, classic home perched above the trees in the East Bay hills.

The spaces needed to be designed to fit our client's busy lifestyle, complete with kiddos and kitties - and make it functional and inviting for their family and guests. We wanted to create a warm feeling while elevating the spaces with traditional, timeless pieces for a refined California-casual look. Drawing inspiration from our clients' East Coast roots, the palette of neutrals and subtle blues and greens complements the surrounding trees and nature. We refreshed the living room, dining room, and other spaces with artisan-made furnishings and beautiful artwork from locally based artists that evoke a sense of heritage and an authentic overall look.

We brought in all new furnishings, custom window coverings, a gorgeous rug, and accessories to the living room. The mix includes a pair of classic, deep-seated sofas in natural linen paired with a casual collection of hand-block-printed linen pillows in botanical and geometric patterns, resulting in ample seating space, an inviting textural blend, and layered color. Mixed pieces, like a reclaimed elm wood console table, a solid oak coffee table, and a carved teak sideboard featuring linear geometric patterns, add rich texture and an eclectic feel to the overall space.

In the foyer, a beautiful solid white oak bench fitted with a custom cushion in a soft, family-friendly canvas is paired with an Indian block print, floral throw pillows, and a small antique Persian rug, creating another point of interest and a cozy entry to the home.

Moving outside, we designed a comfortable yet elegant gathering space, with handwoven wicker, teak chairs, and potted plants offering welcoming al fresco seating for socializing and star gazing.
